When and where is the next Wildfoods Festival going to be?

Wildfoods Festival is always held on the second Saturday of March at Cass Square, in the cool little town of Hokitika!

(That’s Sat 10 March 2018,

Sat 9 March 2019... You get the picture!)

How much are Wildfoods Festival tickets?

$35 (Earlybird discount) if you get in before 10 Jan 2018

$40 from 10 January 2018 until 9 March 2018

or $45 on the day of the Festival (if there are any left, that is!)

Do I need a separate ticket to the Wildfoods Official Afterparty?

Yes. Tickets to the Afterparty are completely separate as this is a strictly R18’s event.

Is there a Festival + Afterparty combo ticket that I can buy?

Where can I buy tickets to the Festival and the Afterparty?

Is the Afterparty R18?

Yes, the Wildfoods Official Afterparty is strictly an R18s event.

What accommodation options are there in town?

There are a range of accommodation options in town including backpackers, motels, hotel, B&Bs and our two designated Festival Campgrounds: Sunset Point and Wadeson Island.

Is the Wildfoods Festival family friendly?

Yes Wildfoods Festival is a family friendly event with lots of entertainment for kids of all ages.

In 2018 we will have a great range of kids entertainment onsite for families to enjoy.

What food will available for purchase?

We will have over 50 stallholders on site providing a range of Wildfoods, from gourmet options like game meats, quality seafood, international cuisines, yummy desserts and a traditional Maori hangi, to some downright disgusting delicacies like mountain oysters, scorpions, worms, horse semen and of course the iconic huhu grubs – a Festival favourite.

Are pets allowed at the Festival site?

No, we’re sorry, pets are not allowed on site at Cass Square. Sadly, Fluffy will have to stay home and wait for your return to hear all about it!

What else is going on during Wildfoods Weekend?

The Wildfoods Markets are normally setup on Weld Street in Hokitika. Details will be announced soon. The markets will bring stallholders from near and far to show off their wares, food vendors to serve up some grub while you shop and a range of local acts on stage that will keep you entertained!
