Dog and Stock Control

Dog Control

All dogs within the District must be kept under effective control at all times, registered and properly cared for. Dogs need to be registered from 3 months of age.

While Council is responsible for dog policy, control services are contracted out to the SPCA.

Stock Control

The stock control service is contracted to Hokitika Security.

For enquiries or complaints concerning wandering stock - 027 244 7510.
